October pairs Seaside’s ocean air with a lively local calendar. Spend a morning helping care for the beach, meet local artists, or head north for a ranger-led nature walk. Then return to Hillcrest Inn for a comfortable evening close to downtown and the Promenade.

Treasure the Beach: Community Beach Cleanup
Meet in front of the Seaside Aquarium · Seaside Promenade
Start the month by giving the beach a little care. Check in at 9am outside the aquarium, where volunteers provide bags and gloves and explain how to take part. The cleanup happens on the first Saturday of each month and welcomes visitors as well as locals.
Participants can receive Beach Cleanup Coins redeemable at participating coffee shops and attractions. Wear layers and shoes suited to sand.

North Coast Land Conservancy’s 40th Anniversary Party
Circle Creek Conservation Center · 32825 Rippet Road, Seaside
Celebrate four decades of coastal conservation with food, drinks from Public Coast Brewing, dessert, music, and activities for all ages. A guided, approximately 0.7-mile South Trail Loop walk starts at 12:15pm. At 1:15pm, hear about the conservancy’s history and plans for the years ahead.

First Saturday Art Walk
Historic Gilbert District · Broadway and Holladay, downtown Seaside
Make an evening of Seaside’s galleries and independent shops. This monthly walk brings art to the historic downtown district and celebrates its 22nd year in 2026. Browse at your own pace, then leave time for dinner nearby.

Finish Saturday with a small-venue performance by Portland trio Lucid Fusion. Piano, guitar, and bass weave together classical, jazz, and world influences, with improvisation and original arrangements. The lineup features Kellyjoy Kanaley, Rory Kenner, and Alik Berg.

Beach Towel Tuesdays
Seaside Welcome Center · 7 N. Roosevelt Drive, at Broadway
Turn a favorite vacation moment into a Seaside souvenir. Share a fun photo or short video of your visit publicly on social media using #SeasideOregon and #SeasideIsForFun, then bring your group to the Welcome Center and show staff your post.
The first five qualifying visitor groups each Tuesday can receive a limited-edition beach towel while supplies last. The 9am–5pm window is the Welcome Center’s Tuesday opening hours; towels may run out earlier.

Silent Reading Evening

Bring a book, magazine, or newspaper and spend a relaxed evening reading alongside the community. There’s no assigned title: choose whatever you’re enjoying and settle in for a quieter kind of outing.

Let’s Go Birding: Trestle Bay
Fort Stevens State Park · Meet at Parking Lot D
Join a park ranger to look for migrating shorebirds, waterfowl, and terns around Trestle Bay near the Columbia River. Beginners are welcome, and experienced birders are invited to share what they know.

Wild Mushroom Hike
Fort Stevens State Park · Meet at Battery Russell
Look closely at the forest floor on a ranger-led outing focused on finding and identifying wild mushrooms. No registration is required. Participants may bring mushrooms for identification.

Let’s Go Birding: Coffenbury Lake
Fort Stevens State Park · South Coffenbury Lake parking lot
Explore the lake with a ranger and look for the area’s resident forest and water birds. This outing welcomes every experience level. Bring binoculars if possible; a few loaner pairs are available.

Salmon Celebration
Broadway Park · 1300 Broadway Street, Seaside
Celebrate salmon, local river ecology, and community culture at this family-friendly gathering. Activities include storytelling, a drum-painting demonstration, and a weaving table with the Chinook Indian Nation, alongside live music, fish printmaking, educational fishing games, and casting practice.

Spaghetti Feed
Camp Kiwanilong · Warrenton, Oregon
Join Seaside Kiwanis Club and Camp Kiwanilong for a community dinner that supports youth programs, camper scholarships, and improvements at camp. It’s a chance to share a meal while helping local children experience the outdoors.
A hand-built wooden canoe and two matching paddles will be on display for a separate fundraiser raffle. Raffle tickets are $100 each, limited to 100; the drawing occurs after all tickets sell. Dinner admission and raffle tickets are separate.

10th Annual Founder’s Night

The Wildlife Center of the North Coast presents its Seabird Soirée, an evening supporting wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation education. The program includes a seasonal multi-course dinner by Oregon Fine Foods, live and silent auctions, and stories about the center’s work.

Haunted Hotel: If These Walls Could Talk

Halloween Happenin’s: Opening Night

The Seaside Visitors Bureau lists the weekend kickoff on Friday with a 6pm Surrey Parade. Decorate a surrey in Halloween style and join the festivities.
The festival spans multiple days; “all day” on the calendar describes the festival dates, not continuous activities. Use the specific activity times below to plan your visit.

Halloween Happenin’s: Halloween Day
Quatat Park & downtown Seaside
Saturday’s program brings costumes to the water and treats to downtown. The Visitors Bureau lists:
- 10am — Witches & Warlocks Paddle: launch a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard at Quatat Park, behind the Civic & Convention Center. Costumes are welcome; the paddle is listed as rain or shine.
- Noon–2pm — Halloween Activity Zone: local businesses host children’s games at Quatat Park.
- Throughout the day — Downtown trick-or-treating: visit participating businesses during their available hours.

Stay for the giant pumpkin drop
The published Visitors Bureau schedule continues with a 10am Pet Parade, noon–2pm Trunk or Treat, and the 3pm Giant Pumpkin Drop near the Turnaround at the end of Broadway. It’s a fun reason to extend your October getaway into Sunday.
